Lectio Divina with Philippians 2

Lectio Divina is Latin for divine reading, spiritual reading, or "holy reading," and represents a method of prayer and scriptural reading intended to promote communion with God and to provide special spiritual insights. It is a way of praying with Scripture that calls one to study, ponder, listen and, finally, pray from God's Word.

Four Parts of Lectio Divina

Lectio, which is the reading of the word and listening for God speaking. One listens for a word or phrase that seems to draw his or her attention and one repeats this word or phrase over and over.

Meditatio which is a taking in of the word and ruminating on this word or phrase for a period of time. As one repeats the word or phrase, one lets its meaning unfold in his or her heart.

Oratio, which is prayer or responding to God’s word or phrase. How does the word or phrase connect to one personally? One begins a dialogue with God during this step of the process.

Contemplatio, which is contemplation. After one has chosen the word or phrase and spent time with it and dialogued with God about it, then one just simply rests in the presence of God and offers gratitude for the time one has been able to spend with God in prayer.

This is a thrid attempt by me to do a visual form of Lectio Divina by offering the words and background music.
